Is your furniture available in timbers other than those listed?
Often yes. The strength and hardness of timber as well as its colour and grain are often integral to its design and intended use. Let me know what timber you have in mind as it could well be a perfect match. Please ask. I might have your preferred timber in stock or I will check on its availability and price.
How would I get my new item of furniture?
If you live close enough to collect your furniture yourself you are more than welcome to do so. I am happy to deliver if you are within about an hour’s drive of my workshop.
If shipping is required, I will package or crate your item of furniture and arrange for it to be delivered to your door.
I will send a quote for the packaging and shipping for your approval.
How to keep my furniture looking as good as new?
As with all solid wood furniture, it is best to keep it out of direct sunlight.
I use a variety of hand-rubbed Danish oils on my furniture. This is a durable finish that suits my style of furniture while allowing it to look and feel like finely finished wood. Your item of furniture will look as good as new for many years without any refinishing required.
All that you need to do is to occasionally wipe the surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. If liquids or foodstuff are spilt on it, wipe it off as soon as possible with a damp cloth and then wipe dry.
An advantage of solid wood furniture finished with Danish oil is that it is very easily touched-up if your furniture is scratched or damaged. A repair that most people can do themselves or I would be happy to advise or assist you.
