A delightful wall-mounted shelf that could also stand on a table or sideboard. The proportions, angled ends of the upright pieces together with subtle curves make for a very pleasing and slightly Japanese design. This useful shelf is perfect for your entrance hallway, bedroom or living room for keys, smartphones, books, flower vases or small art works.
The individual pieces that the shelf is made of are initially shaped with power tools and then finished with planes, chisels and spokeshaves. These pieces are then rebated into each other and held together with wedged through tenons in tapered mortises and with dowels. The drawer features hand cut dovetails, a shaped solid wood bottom and a turned knob. Handmade as drawers used to be, with a bottom that can be removed to aid cleaning or waxing.
The shelf is easily fastened to your wall by means of the two hidden brackets positioned 600mm apart.
